The Baiyun International Airport of Guangzhou (Canton) is one of the biggest airports, as well as one of the most important logistic hubs in the world.
The aim of the urban development planning was to create an economic zone around the airport and to merge it with the city. Based on the analysis the classification of the economic zone, the planning targets and the structure of the industry, which serves as the basis for the overall planning, were defined.
In the master plan ISA suggested the establishment of two development axis between the airport, the train station Guangzhou North and downtown, to conect these points as well as to strengthen the Datian logistic center.
Not only an urban master plan, but also urban concepts up to development plans were developed for pilot areas.
