Krishnachandran Balakrishnan was born in 1980. He studied architecture from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi and obtained master of landscape architecture and environment planning from University of California at Berkeley, currently pursuing Ph.D in Environmental Planning from the same university. Krishnachandran Balakrishnan is a founding director of SPA Design Pvt. Ltd. with Stephane Paumier & Anupam Bansal. He heads the Landscape & Environmental Design Department, successfully completing major urban level campus planning. He had won Geraldine Knight Scott Travelling Fellowship & Beatrix Farrand Fellowship from UC Berkeley, presently has a doctoral completion fellowship from UC Berkeley. In addition he had Junior Research Fellowship from American Institute of Indian Studies. Since 2012 he also has been instructor for various courses related to ecology and settlement-ecosystem interactions at Indian Institute of Human Settlements.
Anupam Bansal was born in 1969. He studied architecture from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi and obtained master of architecture degree from Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas, USA. Anupam Bansal is the founding director of ABRD Architects Pvt. Ltd. with Rajesh Dongre and of SPA Design Pvt. Ltd. with Stephane Paumier & Krishnachandran Balakrishnan. He has won numerous architectural design competitions, National Centre of Biological Sciences, Bangalore in 2006 & South Asian University, New Delhi in 2011 with ABRD to name a few. As a guest professor he has taught at Sushant school of Art & Architecture, Gurgaon and at School of Planning & Architecture, TVB School of Habitat studies, New Delhi.
Stephane Paumier was born in 1971. He arrived in India in 1996 for a voluntary civil service after his architecture graduation from the School of Architecture of Paris-Belleville, under Henri E. Ciriani. Prior to architecture degree he earned a degree in applied arts followed by degree of industrial design. Stephane Paumier founded SPA Design Pvt. Ltd. with Anupam Bansal & Krishnachandran Balakrishnan in 2005. He has been nominated twice for Aga Khan Architecture Award in the year 2010 for Tarun Tahiliani Headquarters, followed by the year 2012 for Triburg Headquarters both located in Gurgaon, Delhi NCR. He was awarded with the silver medal of the French Academy of Architecture in 2005. As visiting professor he has taught at School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi, from 2008-2010 at CEPT Ahmedabad in India, in school of architecture Paris-Belleville in 2012 & at MIT, USA in 2009.
